Cardiff City goalkeeping target Dimi Konstantopolous has joined Coventry City instead of the Bluebirds.

Dave Jones was thought to be keen on the player, who fits the bill as a large and dominant keeper. He is highly rated and available on a free transfer and had impressed City scouts who were sent to keep tabs on the former Hartlepool United player.

However, Cardiff’s interest in the Greek ‘keeper is now over after the player opted to move to the Ricoh Arena and join the Sky Blues of Coventry City.

Dave Jones will have to look elsewhere for a goalkeeper. Peter Risdale has held preliminary talks with an un-named ‘Premiership keeper’ with Mart Poom (Arsenal), Thomas Sorensen (Aston Villa) and Roy Carroll (West Ham) amongst those linked.
