Cardiff City have NOT accepted a £5m deal for Roger Johnson as has been widely reported in the press over the past few days. It had been speculated that a deal had been agreed and Johnson would sign terms when returned from his holiday.

However, there was no word from either club and Cardiff City have now denied that any deal has been agreed and stated there had been no further contact following the previous £5m bid (based on appearances and staggered payments).

Two bids have been turned down, and Birmingham City signed Scott Dann from Coventry. However, sources in the West Midlands suggest they maintain a strong interest in RJ and could yet offer an improved deal.

As of now, Roger Johnson remains a Cardiff City player and has a fair chance of leading the Bluebirds out at the new stadium.
