Cardiff City defender Tony Capaldi has not been called up by Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington for the friendly against Georgia later this month.

Capaldi has gained 21 caps for his country and is a regular in the squad, but has been overlooked on this occasion.

Some dodgy performances have put his Cardiff City place under scrutiny this season and numerous sides have identified the defender as a weak link and targetted him. In a confident side on form, Capaldi is solid and dependable if un-spectacular. However, when things are not going well, he can look lost and vulnerable.

Although Capaldi did not make the squad, Warren Feeney was selected. The Cardiff striker has just returned from a lengthy injury – picked up while on loan at Swansea City. He made his comeback in the 1-0 win over Hull City as a second half substitute and has immediately been called up by Worthington.
