Cardiff needed the new signings to make an instant impact and we can safely say that they did just that against Norwich on Saturday as we came from behind to secure a crucial 2-1 win at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Two of the new signings, Fabio and Jones, came in to make instant debuts for Cardiff with Zaha named on the bench but his time would certainly come. Norwich made three changes, but no new signings came in.

A move, started in midfield by Snodgrass, saw Olsson burst forward from full back and his cross into the box was met by Snodgrass and it smashed the ball into the back of the net to give Norwich an early lead.

Norwich started much the brighter of the sides and could have extended their lead. Again Olsson was involved in a move that ended with Elmander laying the ball back to Johnson but he shot over with the unrest among the Bluebirds fans clear as was the disgust of OGS.

Fabio and Noone seem to have built up and instant understanding that seems positive and their link up almost brought a chance for Mutch but Noone’s fine ball into the box just evaded him.

OGS made changes at half time, Zaha was introduced and he made an instant impact.

Losing the ball, or giving it away, on the edge of your own penalty area as Norwich did is criminal with Zaha pouncing on this and sliding in Bellamy. His shot might have ended up trickling across the line but it crossed it, which was the main thing with an early equaliser in the second half found.

Bellamy’s first ever Premier League goal for us saw him create history by becoming the first playing in the league to score for seven different clubs.

Again Zaha was involved just a minute later, Mutch battled for the ball in the box with his effort just deflected wide for a corner. This was taken quickly, Jones saw his header hit a defender but he was alert to the follow up and slammed the rebound into the net to mark his debut with a goal and a trademark celebration to follow.

It was then down to the brilliant of Marshall that we managed to preserve our lead.

Johnson’s latest effort of the afternoon was brilliantly tipped onto the bar by Marshall at full stretch, an unusual deflection off Jones from a miss hit Mutch shot ended up hitting the post but Norwich were pilling on the pressure.

If the Johnson save was good Marshall’s save from Redmond was even better. Brilliantly getting down low, with a shot that went through the crowded box, Marshall turned the effort away but from the follow up Marshall was beaten by Hooper but not Bellamy as he headed off the line.

Fer forced another save from Marshall, Snodgrass headed against the post with Bassong heading over an injury time as the win was secured that we desperately needed. OGS admitted that Norwich had ‘battered us’ in the final 15 minutes or so but winning was the all important thing.

Marshall was instrumental to this win, others scored the goals but he made some stunning saves.
