Cardiff City have officially confirmed the signing of commanding centre-back Ben Turned from fellow Championship side Coventry City.

After being strongly linked with the move since the weekend, Turner joins on a three year deal for a fee likely to be in the region of £900k.

Turner is highly rated, and formed a formidable partnership with Scott Dann before the latter left to join Birmingham and Turned was ruled out with a knee injury. He is now back to full fitness, and passed a rigorous fitness test from the Bluebirds backroom staff.

The initial proposed move had included a swap deal with City striker Jon Parkin, however, terms could not be agreed and a straight cash deal for Turner was needed.

Turner will likely compete with current first choice duo Mark Hudson and Anthony Gerrard for the two starting positions.
