Cardiff City striker Jon Parkin is apparently undergoing a medical with Coventry City according to media sources in the area. Parkin has been heavily linked with a move to the Sky Blues as part of a deal to bring centre-half Ben Turner to Cardiff.

Parkin was brought in by Dave Jones as a back-up to Jay Bothroyd. After a stunning opening goal against Norwich City, his chances have been limited and he does not appear to feature in Malky Mackay’s plans. Parkin started the season behind Miller, Earnshaw and even youngster Rudy Gestede.

Parkin has recently stated he is happy in Cardiff, and re-iterated his desire to challenge for a place in the team. However, Mackay has other options lined-up and a departure always looked likely for the Beast.

The deal is (most likely) dependent on Ben Turner moving the other way, though Turner is also keen to talk to Birmingham City. If Turner does not move to the Bluebirds, Coventry may also have reached a cash agreement with City.
