Play-Offs Pessimism Among Cardiff City Fans

Cardiff City need a solitary point in their final Championship match against Sheffield Wednesday to guarantee the play-off place that once looked a formality before a succession of disappointing results for the Bluebirds. We failed on our own turf to get a point against Ipswich Town last weekend but our fate remains in our own hands. Alternatively if Burnley lose, or Preston fail to win – we are also assured of a place.

However, a 6-0 away hammering to Preston North End, 2-2 draw at relegated Charlton Athletic and disappointing 3-0 reversal at home to Ipswich Town has seen our charge, and confidence suffer.

Vital Cardiff City is currently running a poll (available on the right side of your screen) inviting members and readers to poll their thoughts on our chances of reaching the play-offs. It would be little short of a disaster for us to fail now, and the odds are still stacked in our favour. Preston would surely prefer to be in our position than have to rely on others. However, at present – we are not seeing a swell of confidence in our future with the majority voting against all likelihood and predicting we will lose, while Preston will win meaning the Bluebirds season will be over.

A fair number of ‘non` Cardiff City supporters may be swaying the poll, but confidence is far from high amongst the Bluebirds following – keep the faith !!!
