No Cardiff City Return For Michael Chopra

Former Cardiff City favourite Michael Chopra will not be returning to Cardiff City after Sunderland Chairman Niall Wuinn ruled out any possibility of a loan switch.

Chopra has suffered personal problems recently, and had been missing from the Black Cats squad through suspension. However, he remains a part of Roy Keane’s plans and will not be allowed out on loan.

Cardiff City had hoped to exploit the wealth of strikers on Sunderland’s book and persuade them to allow Chopra to return to form at Ninain Park. Currently, Prica, Stokes, Chopra, Cisse, Yorke, Connelly, Jones, Murphy and Diouf are all striking options for Sunderland.

Cardiff City already have one striker on loan from the Premiership although Eddie Johnson has been extremely disappointing so far with performances described as ‘hapless’ at best. ‘Shocking’ may well be more appropriate.

That’s a shame. Sunderland can surely afford to loan him out with all the class they have in the attacking department. Oh well, we all just have to hope that Johnson fires soon enough… doubtful
