Cardiff City recently agreed a mutual contract termination with veteran midfielder Kevin Cooper. The veteran has moved quickly to agree terms with a new club and has secured a move to Chesterfield.

With the transfer window shut, Cooper would have been stuck at Cardiff but the contract termination allowed him to join other teams as a free agent.

Several other clubs including Chester City showed an interest in the former Wolves man but the Spirites clinched his signature yesterday.

Coops can still be effective at linking play and his experience should prove a useful asset to any league club. Unfortunatley Cooper has barely featured for Cardiff in the past two seasons but we wish him well for the future.
