Easy Decision For Cardiff’s Jones?

With his club Cardiff City in somewhat of a crisis, in particular the fate of Dave Jones himself, the Bluebirds boss can count himself as somewhat fortunate.

He has a team that he has assembled himself (Jones brought every player in save for Parry and Ledley). In addition, he has enjoyed support from Ridsdale and the board after still occupying the chair after a torrid run of results stretching back for A YEAR.

He has two games to save his job and has the luxury of being able to select most of his best players. Scimeca is a loss, but only Jason Byrne is definately out with recent injuries also to veteran Robbie Fowler and youngster Matt Smith – both now available.

However, what exactly are the best players in this current situation?

The team is low on confidence having plummetted down the table and many players are underperforming.

On the sides, we have Chris Gunter, a hugely enthusiastic player full of determination and potential. He has not been part of the team recently and will have felt frustration rather than dissappointment at the performances. In addition, he has played well in two encouraging draws for Wales this week against much better opposition (Ireland and Germany).

Gunter needs to come in for Capaldi, no question. There is huge pressure, but he has proved himself trustworthy and was thrown into action similarly last year.

It’s not a knee-jerk reaction Mr Jones. It’s common sense and a step which really should be taken. Gunter would add drive, determination and character to a deflated side, and despite Capaldi being ‘steady’ – I don’t think we’d lose out defensively either.

Over to you Mr Jones, do you want to be a big big star…..
