Cardiff City manager Dave Jones will come under intense pressure over his future after his side again followed the script to a T, stumbling their way through the season with highs and desperate lows before limping into a play-off campaign and surrendering meekly – standard!

In his 6 years at the club, Dave Jones has performed admirable having contended with off-field disasters, squad exodus’ and high public expectations. His successes are obvious, but there has always been an undercurrent of fragility and understatement about his management style and his well publicised weaknesses about squad make-up, balance, use of substitutions and lack of a plan B were all at the fore again last night.

There is significant belief within the media and fans that Dave Jones will end his Bluebirds tenure and seek pastures new. When talk turned to his own future after the game, Jones would not be drawn but made reference to his impressive CV on several occasions – touting for a new job perhaps?!?

Speaking to WalesOnline, Jones said:

“Do I have the drive and passion? Of course. It`s my life. Can you call this failure?”

“I`m a big daft Scouser and I will bounce back. Give me time to get over it. I don`t give up on anything.”

“Lots of things will be said and lots of things will be written, but I have to take stock of my career and my life and what I want to do. I will assess it in the cold light of day.”

“We`ll sit down with Gethin Jenkins and the owners see what we want to do and what`s the next stage for the football club.”

A case of ‘watch this space’ for Cardiff City. Whilst I do believe Dave Jones is a good manager, it is certainly time for a change at the CCS. We (as a club) have failed to address the longterm weaknesses, and the mentality and tactics are questionable. Jones fashioned a team of individuals with real quality, but was unable to gel them into a winning team. Norwich City, QPR and our rivals Swansea City are obvious examples of the benefits of a hard-working squad where everbody knows their roles inside-out and plays as a unit.

I have supported D.J. for years but i think he has now come to a time when he has to go–both for himself and for us long-suffering fans .It is now all too obvious that a new start for the club is badly needed with new blood and fresh ideas. Thanks Dave but enough is enough!!!!!!!
