Cardiff City striker Ross McCormack put is a classy display last night in front of the watching Scotland manager George Burley and will have done nothing to harm his International ambitions of credentials.

Burley attended City’s 2-0 win over Coventry City with a number of Scotland qualified players on show. McNagaughton hobbled off early on, but Burke, Rae and McCormack all played blinders for Cardiff City while Coventry City’s Daniel Fox will not have impressed Burley after being tormented by Burke on the Bluebirds right.

Birmingham City striker James McFadden is a doubt for Scotland with a knee injury and Burley may well be considering calling up Rosco after a fine display. Intelligent running and passing, a number of brilliant dummies saw McCormack threaten constantly. He was full of guile and skill with the ball at his feet and linked up well throughout.

McCormack did miss two uncharacterisitc efforts in the first half. One was well saved by Westwood and the other scuffed wide of the post but that was rectified in the second half when Rosco latched onto a Rae pass and slotted home under the keeper’s body for his 14th of the season.

Burley told the Daily Record:

“Ross is actively under consideration for the squad.”<BR>
