Cardiff City boss Dave Jones ahs picked up the Championship manager of the month award for January after his unbeaten Bluyebirds very nearly gained a 100% record.
West Brom and Watford both stole last gasp points on their home grounds but Cardiff’s form has been excllent and reflected in the award to boss Jones.
The award caps a remarkable turnaround for Jones with huge pressure mounting for his sacking before Christmas. A 4-1 home victory over Colchester United was a turning point, and the resurgent Bluebirds have barely looked back.
Hopefully the award will not have it’s usual effect on teams where a manager of month award if often followed by a lapse in form. A chance tomorrow to prove otherwise at high flying Stoke City tomorrow.
