Cardiff vs Palace (reaction)

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones had to settle for a home point after seeing his side dominate but fail to break down a stubborn Crystal Palace side, who, despite playing 3 strikers, looked happy with a point.

‘We’re not winning much and not losing much lately – we have to start turning these games into wins.’ said Jones.

‘That was my best team out there for getting results and we certainly created enough chances for the victory.’

‘Neil Alexander didn’t have to make a save as we dominated for long spells – we haven’t attacked that much at home for some time.’

Its a stark contrast to recent weeks where Cardiff have barely looked like scoring, if they had got the first early then they would have gone on to score more. A striker is a priority in January and that will add another dimension up-front with Chopra going through a personal barren spell. He looked lively again yesterday but needs a couple of goals to lift confidence.

Palace boss Peter Taylor was satisfied with the point despite City’s poor run:

‘Cardiff City are a very good team, and if you come here and take a point from them, you must be delighted.’
