Cardiff City manager Dave Jones has vowed to bring in enough, and the right players to properly strengthen the Bluebirds team in preparation for a season-long promotion bid next year.

With many of this years squad set to leave, Jones must act fast to get those players he wants and can afford but not rush in to other deals that may not be right for Cardiff City football club – it promises to be a busy summer.

Jones has confirmed there will be no overflowing transfer kitty to spend but after the stadium project has now gone ‘unconditional’ – he will have some funds to play with.

‘We cannot be stupid in the market. We can`t go looking for players costing £2m to £3m – just forget it.’

‘At the other end of the scale we are not looking at bargain basement either as the club has gone forward – it is more a case of getting players that we can afford.’

‘I have given Peter a list of players who are currently playing in the Premiership and the Championship and every playing position at this club needs to be improved.’

If Jones words are to be taken literally, a new centre-half may be arriving which could spell the end of Darren Purse’s Cardiff City career with the younger Glenn Loovens and Roger Johnson both impressing this year.
