Cardiff City are not expected to dip into the newly re-opened transfer window and will rely on the talent they already have within the squad as they fight for a play-off place.
The Bluebirds were hit by a mid-season slump and had little strength in depth with which to freshen up a tired and bereft of confidence side. They have been active in the transfer window, and the additions have paid dividends immediately with 3 straight wins since the capture of Jason Byrne.
Byrne, along with Simon Walton, David Forde, Peter Whittingham and Iwan Redan are all ready to fight for a first team place while youngsters Matt Green and James Simmonds look to build experience in the reserves.
After utilising loans well in the past couple of seasons ( e.g. Jason Koumas, James Chambers and Alan Wright), manager Dave Jones has now confirmed that no new loan players will be recruited:
‘We won’t bring in people for the sake of it because it might upset the current squad.’

like to see another defender, preferably full-back come in, bit weak if any injuries
I can understand not wanting to upset the current squad though
