Cardiff City potential star Chris Gunter has been nominated for the Best Young Apprentice award as part of this years Football League Awards. Gunter has been shortlisted along with 5 other Championship youngsters.
Gunter caught the eye after impressing for Cardiff in Reserves and Carling Cup football and was given his chance in the first team after injury and suspension to Kerrea Gilbert. The youngster made several appearances and coped well, looking determined and tactically astute and the right-back has been marked as one to watch for the future.
This particular award is not eligible for fans votes but will instead be decided by a panel from the Football League and the award sponsors Wickes.
