Cardiff City striker Jason Byrne has suffered yet ANOTHER injury blow and it seems his Cardiff City career may be as good as over before it has even begun.

Signed from the Eircom league in January last season, Byrne scored on debut, a winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, since then he has struggled to impress and suffered a number of injuries.

Towards the end of last season, he was struck by shin splints and missed much of pre-season. After working hard to regain fitness, Byrne found himself behind Fowler, Hasselbaink, Feeney, Parry and even the transfer-listed Steve Thompson in the hunt for a starting position.

Byrne does not even feature on the bench for Cardiff City and after yesterday limping out of a friendly defeat by Swansea City – his future looks bleak.

  • Eusebio says:

He was a goal scoring machine in the Eircom League and was better than Doyle and Long and they are scoring reguarly in the Premiership, watched him for 5 years and was the qucikest player in the last 30 years to reach 100 goals! 25-30 goals a season he was worth

  • Bonesy says:

maybe doyle more adaptable, Byrne looks like a lost rabbit and slow as treacle
