Cardiff City’s new signing Trevor Sinclair has revealed his optimism and excitement ahead of the new season.

Sinclair joined on a free transfer from Manchester City and adds valuable experience to the squad. His form is pre-season has been impressive and suggests he has plenty to offer our current side.

Despite being relatively old for a footballer (34), Sincalir has compensated for a lack of pace and has good skill, is comfortable on the ball and has added a touch of class to the midfield in the pre-season games.

Sinclair spoke to BBC Sport of his thoughts for the coming campaign:

‘I’m massively excited and can’t wait.’

‘All the lads have been working hard and there is a good team spirit and we really fancy our chances of doing something this season.’

‘There is a lot of enthusiasm in the squad. A lot of them were here last season and they would have been disappointed with how their season ended.’

It remains to be seen whether Sinclair can maintain his current form over a season, and whether his fitness will last a whole campaign but he looks a good acquisition so far and is making all the right noises as far as the fans are concerned.
