Cardiff’s Championship season continued with a one-one draw with Nottingham Forest at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday.

More ground was lost on the play-off places as Cardiff ended the year with a point having fallen behind to an early Oliver Burke goal but the Bluebirds were soon level when Aron Gunnarsson saw his effort deflected home to level it up four-minutes later and that’s how it ended.

The Bluebirds end the year in 10th and some six-points off the top six.

These were the other results.

Monday 28th December 2015
Bolton 1-0 Blackburn
Birmingham 1-0 MK Dons
Burnley 4-0 Bristol City
Charlton 0-2 Wolves
Preston 1-0 Hull
QPR 1-1 Huddersfield
Reading 1-2 Brentford
Middlesbrough 1-0 Sheff Wed

Tuesday 29th December 2015
Brighton 0-1 Ipswich
Cardiff 1-1 Nottm Forest
Fulham 4-1 Rotherham
Leeds 2-2 Derby

Some interesting results with these the probable stand out ones.

An impressive win for Bolton saw their troubles put to one side for a little while as they won a Lancashire derby with Blackburn one-nil at the Macron Stadium with (who were meant to be the Rovers opponents on Boxing Day before this was called off) Middlesbrough ending the year top of the Championship table with a one-nil win over Sheffield Wednesday at the Riverside Stadium.

Burnley’s promotion bid got a boost with a four-nil win over Bristol City at Turf Moor whereas Hull (who beat Burnley convincingly on Boxing Day) slumped to another disappointing defeat losing one-nil at Deepdale against Preston.

A play-off push remains very much in the sights of Brentford with the Bees ending the year with a two-one win at Reading with Ipswich doing likewise with a win at Brighton, who lost for a second time in three-matches.
