Cardiff City goalkeeper is already attracting the interests of potential suitors after the player confirmed he would be leaving the club in the summer.

Alexander is Cardiff’s longest serving player, but was unable to agree a new deal with the club despite wanting to stay. The club were not prepared to offer an existing deal making Alexander’s exit as a free agent almost certain.

A proven player at Championship level, and 3 times capped by Scotland, Alexander is bound to receive plenty of interest and speculation that Norwich City are expressing interest has already reached the player’s ears:

“I am obviously flattered to be linked with a club like Norwich City but while I’m under contract at Cardiff my thoughts are 100 per cent behind them and promotion.’

“What will happen in the summer, will happen.’

Hearts and Coventry City have also been linked with moves for the player in the past.

Alexander has 6 games, plus up to 3 possible play-off matches and has signalled his wish to help Cardiff City reach the Premiership. It is not beyond the realms of possibility that Cardiff will offer Neil a new deal, but the player has now publically confirmed he is open to offers.

Cardiff fans recently voted on this site in favour of Alexander and many eyebrows have been raised over the club’s decision to allow him to leave for nothing.
