Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale has confirmed that there will be money for Bluebirds boss Dave Jones to strengthen with over the summer, regarless of whether Cardiff City succeed or fail in their promotion bid.

With a reported £50million on offer to a team promoted to the Premiership this season, such a windfall would mean a major cash injection into the squad but Ridsdale has now confirmed that a transfer kitty is available within the club anyway. He would not reveal what sort of money is available however:

‘The one thing you can guarantee is that there will be movement in and out of the club this summer and they won’t all be free transfers’.

Jones and Ridsdale have remained tight-lipped on their available finances in the past so as not to be paying over-inflated prices.

Whilst it is good news for the fans that money will be spent, it is unlikely to be a massive amount and could just as easily be intended to entice supporters to renew their season tickets rather than any intention to splash out on new players.

We hope to be proved wrong…..
