Cardiff City: The Rangers Connection

Cardiff City wore what is their usual home kit for the visit to Hull City on saturday. However, they were somewhat indebted to another side who play in blue as they created numerous chances in a frantic first half.

Despite falling behind early, The Bluebirds grabbed the equaliser on 6 minutes when former Glasgow Rangers midfielder Gavin Rae received a pass from former Rangers striker Steve MacLean. Rae burst towards goal before squaring to former Rangers striker Steve Thompson to fire home.

Thompson and MacLean former a new look, ex-Rangers, frontline which looked far more threatening than our more static big-name partnerships. Gavin Rae was instrumental in midfield, certainly p=one of his best Cardiff performances and he was my man-of-the-match for Cardiff (Hull City keeper Boaz Myhill gets the award for the Tigers – hands down!).

The Rangers connection linked up superbly on Saturday and will surely get the chance to do so again tonight for the visit of Charlton Athletic.
