Cardiff City are keeping tabs on Jermaine Easter with a view to attracting him to his hometown club. Sheffield Wednesday, Crystal Palace and West Brom are all also being linked with the player.

Easter, brother of recently released Cardiff striker Jamal Easter, is one of a number of targets linked with the Bluebirds following Chris Killen’s U-turn. Chairman Peter Ridsdale rubbished rumours of a move for Hull City’s Jon Parkin.

Easter’s reprasentitive refused to be drawn on the speculation but hinted that a move would be considered by the player:

‘We are not talking with anyone about Jermaine and he is happy with life at Wycombe but you never know what is going to happen in the future.’

Wycombe Wanderers finished mid-table in league 2 while Easter topped the club’s scoring charts with 17 league goals. He has scored prolifically over several seasons and may be tempted by a move home and to link up with his former captain Roger Johnson.

Surely we’d have to pay – i thought they turned down a big bid from Man City?
