Cardiff City midfielder Solomon Taiwo has been a disappointment since moving from Dagenham & Redbridge a year ago. He looked all but set to leave but with our transfer embargo still in force, City may be tempted to keep hold of him and give him a chance.

During the close season, Taiwo agreed a £100k move to newly promoted Norwich City, a transfer that would have allowed him to start again but his persistent hip problem scuppered his Carrow Road medical and the Canaries were unwilling to wait until August for his to regain full fitness so Taiwo remains a Bluebird.

The player himself recently spoke out outlining his determination to play a part for Cardiff City.

A recent poll on this Vital Cardiff site found most fans to be happy to give Taiwo a chance, while a surprising 23% also felt he was worthy of a regular starting place.

He should play regularly. 23%
Give him a chance. 48%
Depends on finances/fitness 2%
Sell if at all possible. 7%
No future – get rid. 20%

With Joe Ledley`s departure, Taiwo will certainly have a chance, but McPhail, Drinkwater, Rae, Wildig and possibly Darcy Blake will all be eyeing the central midfield positions.
