Cardiff City have suffered a series of hammer blows in the past few weeks and the latest revelation comes in the form of a stinging attack from star striker Michael Chopra who has spoken of his disappointment and frustration at the current situation before outlining a desire to leave if progress is not forthcoming.

In a frank statement reported by the Western Mail, Chopra warned:

“If this club does not bring in new players, I`m off. I`ve had a enough of this. Nothing is moving with just a couple of weeks to go before the new season.”

“I can see that we will struggle this season if people at board level don`t get real and sort this matter out soon.”

Whilst in reality, Chopra’s position is one for which we have a direct replacement [Ross McCormack], it would be a major blow to lose a player of Michael Chopra’s ability. He is guaranteed to get goals at Championship level and is likely the most valuable player within the current CCFC squad.

Chopra’s frustration is understandable and echoes the feeling of many Bluebirds fans. We, of course, do not have the luxury of walking away and finding a new club! Few would question Chopra’s commitment, especially on the back of his showing in the play-off final, a performance sadly not emulated by many of his team-mates.

Everyone at the club wants to see the transfer embargo lifted, and new faces brought in. A fee of £4m+ for Michael Chopra would certainly see that happen, but at what cost….

told you he would go weeks ago didn’t i
ipswich will meet the £5m asked for and he will defo leave as he likes roy keane, as sad as i would be to see him go we need the cash and losing 1 player to possibly gain more makes sense as our squad once again isn’t deep enough and the fringe players not good enough at championship level!!
