Cardiff City are keen on taking a young Manchester United goalkeeper on loan from Premiership giants Manchester United.

The Bluebirds are hoping for a season long loan deal with the Red Devils for their reserve team goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

Heaton and Enckelman (who has been offered a permanent deal) would compete for the number one shirt next season, with highly rated youngster Erwin Sak as third choice.

This move would seem to spell the end for both David Forde, linked with a move to Aberdeen, and Michael Oakes the veteran who failed to impress this season.

Heaton is a youngster with a bright future and is especially reknowed for his shot-stopping prowess. He has previously been on loan with Swindon Town.

The loan deal could be a useful bargaining tool in the potential transfer of Aaron Ramsey to Manchester United.
