Cardiff City manager Dave Jones may be looking to switch his side around following a disappointing defeat to Southampton on Saturday. However, his options are falling away by the moment as two more midfielders look set to miss out through injury.

Quincy and Chris Burke both picked up knocks against the Saints, and while both could be fit – neither is likely to make the squad. Of these, McPhail is most likely to return while Chopra could also play with a pain-killing injection if necessary into his heel.

Add to that injuries to Jay Bothroyd, Michael Chopra, Kevin McNaughton and Stephen McPhail and you can see we face some selection problems. Peter Whittingham, Tony capaldi and Riccy Scimeca have each barely played since returning from long-term injuries and are all short on match practice.

I haven’t mentioned our two crocked keepers in Tom Heaton and Peter Enckelman. Thats almost half our first team squad injured!
