Cardiff City went down 1-0 on Saturday to set the moaners off. Lack of creativity, we’ve blown it, no goals – no hope. All the usual rubbish has been spouted. It’s Dave Jones’ fault, the players’ fault, Peter Ridsdale’s fault and even Arsenal’s fault…

However, this talk is surely wide of the mark and despite not scoring in successive games (the second time this season) – its hardly a devastating blow and one we cant recover from! OK, the signs are not good at present but a win would be all smiles again and talk of promotion – ridiculous!

Southampton became only the fourth team this season to keep us out for 90 minutes and they relied on a fine string of saves from Kelvin Davis and the referr missing a clear handball. QPR have kept us out twice this campaign while Bristol city and Sheffield United have also kept a clean sheet in successive games against the Bluebirds back in August/September.

Following that ‘goal drought’we played Barnsley on a Tuesday night – coming away with three points courtesy of Peter Whittingham’s goal.

Next up it’s…..Barnsley and a chance to immediately set the record straight and get back to winning ways. Someone told me today, anything less than a win is unacceptable but thats simply not true. Anything less than a win is disappointing. Get some perspective Cardiff City fans, get behind the team – take a look at the table and ask yourself if it’s a good position to be in. The only answer is yes.
