Cardiff City manager Dave Jones bemoaned bad luck and inability to finish chances after watching his side dominate but pick up a solitary point at Burnley. Jones told BBC Sport:
‘We came here to win it and I felt for a spell in the second-half of five or six minutes we just had a little panic up.’
‘I mean, Roger’s missed the ball and kicked the post and if we’d come away winners today I don’t think Owen would have been too displeased because of the way we played and I thought some of the football we played was sublime.’
Burnley manager Owen Coyle payed tribute to Cardiff City and tipped the Bluebirds for a strong season:
‘It would have been easy at 2-1 down to feel sorry for ourselves but our group of players don’t know when we are beaten. They showed real courage.’
‘I felt Cardiff looked a good side and that we scored against the run of play. I have no doubt they will be in the shake up at the end of the season. Cardiff are packed with quality.’
