Where Will The Points Come From?

Cardiff’s win over Fulham, which was a must, has breathed new life into our Premier League survival bid but we’ve still got plenty to do to make sure we stay up.

That win drew us level on points with West Bromwich Albion, but we remained in the bottom three on goal difference. A target of four wins from our final nine Premier League games has been set by OGS and when you look at the fixture list you can see four wins coming, at least I can.

Our remaining fixtures are:

15th March – Everton (away)
22nd March – Liverpool (home)
29th March – West Bromwich Albion (away)
5th April – Crystal Palace (home)
12th April – Southampton (away)
19th April – Stoke (home)
27th April – Sunderland (away)
3rd May – Newcastle (away)
11th May – Chelsea (home)

When I look at these I see West Bromwich Albion, Crystal Palace, Stoke and Sunderland as the four that I think we are maybe most likely to win, or could win, but I’m not sure if four wins will be enough so think we might need at least five with Newcastle, if they have an off day, another we might win.

I’d not want us needing a win against Chelsea on the final day to stay up.

Perhaps I’m wearing my rose tints but from those fixtures, not that I am for one minutes trying to suggest we’ll win the rest, only the Liverpool and Chelsea games are fixtures that I look at and ‘write off’ as a loss.

Cliché I know, but maybe a game at a time is the way forward but after the big win over Fulham on Saturday I’ve found some new confidence we can stay up but won’t be taking anything for granted.

Will 37 points be enough to keep us up? OGS seems to think it will but 40 points would increase those chances meaning four wins and three draws from the final nine or five wins, I’ll take whatever it is that prevents us from being relegated.
