Cardiff City have been warned by Baggies boss Tony Mowbray that former loan star Jason Koumas is not for sale during the transfer window.

Koumas enjoyed a magnificent season-long loan with the Bluebirds last season after falling out with then boss Bryan Robson. Cardiff applied all their efforts to signing Koumas during the close season but the sale of Cameron Jerome to Birmingham rahter than WBA angered Robson and he refused to agree to City’s offer.

Koumas himself was desperate to move and even went on strike from training but was forced into a return and mended his relationship with Robson. Since then and with the subsequent arrival of Tony Mowbray as the new boss, Koumas has become an integral part of the team and has impressed on a regular basis for the midlands club.

It is unknown whether Dave Jones, a long term admirer of Koumas, made any serious enquiry regarding the talented midfielder but Mowbray has warned Cardiff City and several other clubs that Koumas is not for sale.
