Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay is still waiting on the fitness of a few of his battle weary Bluebirds before firming up his starting line-up to face Hull City later today.

One such player is Andrew Taylor, who suffered a hamstring tear in the AET Carling Cup win over Leicester City. That injury saw him miss out on the 0-0 draw with Leicester in the league, and an impressive 2-1 win over Southampton with first Lee Naylor and then Darcy Blake deputising.

Taylor will undergo a fitness test this morning to assess his availability, but with Darcy Blake and Paul Quinn providing options – Mackay seems likely to rest Taylor rather than risking him aggravating the hamstring.

Following the Hull City game, the injured City stars will have a rest period with the International break coming at just the right time. Whilst it would be great to have a fully fit Taylor back in contention, a further 2 weeks would allow him to return 100% fit and ready for the Ipswich Town clash.

Craig Conway is another who will be assessed, but his ankle injury is again causing problems and he is rated doubtful at best.
