Vital Cardiff City took time out this week to speak to ardent Stoke City fan John Overton ahead of this weekends clash:

Some transfer dealings, are you happy?

I think so. We lost Eustace yesterday but Glenn Whelan the replacement is a mighty good player and I rather feel we’ve got a bargain there. Shawcross is clearly a major coup and Gallacher’s loan was extended so we can hopefully push on from here.

You must be happy with the league position?

It’s great yeah, exceeding expectations for sure but still some people aren’t happy and slating Tony Pulis. OK so the football isn’t always the prettiest but Whelan will bring more and we’ve got a fantastic platform to build from.

Final league position?

Obviously play-offs now looks a minimum but can’t tale anything for granted in this division. Automatic promotion must be the aim for as long as is mathematically possible, then we’ll re-assess.

Stoke City player to watch?

Ryan Shawcross has been the key all season, he got the winner against you guys first game and has been an absolute rock. Cardiff seem to be scoring freely but RS is possibly the best centre-half in the division (in my opinion!).

If you could have one Cardiff player on a free, who and why?

To give us an extra cutting edge in midfield I’d go for Ledley. A bit suprised you held onto him, he sounds one hell of a player and seems to have been performing well for years now.

Prediction for the game?

Despite your form, I’d back us at home and think we’ll grab a late second to make it 2-0 Potters.
