The emergency loan means he can now go straight into the squad that faces Burnley tomorrow, whereas a normal deal would have meant he was too late to be included.

Scimeca has a high work rate, although Albion fans reckon he was not good enough for the Premiership. He joined the Baggies in the summer of 2004 and made 40 appearances for the club.

Before that he started his career at Aston Villa as a trainee before moving onto local rivals Nottingham Forest for £300,000. Leicester City took him on in 2003 where he made 31 appearances before his move to the Hawthorns
