Vital Cardiff City speaks to ardent QPR fan Steve-QPR ahead of this weekend’s match between Cardiff City and QPR.

Are you happy with your departures / signings ?

Rangers Fans have been devastated by the departure of Winger Lee Cook to rivals Fulham, but the fee of £2.5m has brought in a much needed cash injection for us. Manager John Gregory I believe has got rid of a lot of the ‘dead-wood’ around the club and has brought in some promising players: Daniel Nardiello from Barnsley, Michael Mancienne from Chelsea, Ben Sahar from Chelsea, John Curtis from Notts Forest, Lee Camp from Derby and two guys you will know a lot about, Simon Walton and Chris Barker. Unfortunately Walton broke his leg in pre-season.

Best Signing: Micheal Mancienne. The guy is amazing. Plays Centre-Half and has the lot. Good in the air, quick, strong, has great vision and will die for the club. He is a future England Centre-Half.

What are your aspirations for this season?

A lot of QPR fans are very optimistic about the season ahead, but I personally will take staying up again. We have to maintain our Championship status to progress as a club and I believe we will. 15th looks like our best bet but with speculation about new owners coming in and wanting to spend big, who knows what will happen.

QPR player to watch, how will they hurt us?

Again Michael Mancienne. Your strikers need to be at the races on Saturday or Michael will walk all over them. He is a very good player. Also Martin Rowlands (if on form) is very dangerous on the left and the two strikers (Dexter Blackstock and Daniel Nardiello) are beginning to forge a good understanding.

If you could have one Cardiff player on a free, who and why?

Robbie Fowler will get goals for you in the Championship, that’s for certain. It would probably be him although I also like the look of Peter Whittingham.

Prediction for the game?

It’s very hard to predict at such an early stage of the season. Maybe because you guys lost on Saturday your confidence could be down. I’ll go for a 1-0 QPR win, it’s gonna be very tight

Thanks to Steve for his thoughts. A slightly worrying aspect for City is an imposing back line, with our mis-firning strikers struggling to forge a partnership and goals looking like goaldust.
