Cardiff City could be set to bring in a foreign striker as they continue to be thwarted in their attempts to secure a powerful forward.

Steve MacLean and Warren Feeney have each failed to fire so far, and their partnership has looked very limited. Robbie Fowler is still short of fitness while Matt Green is deemed to young and lightweight for a major role this season.

We have struggled to bring in anybody from this country, with transfer fees inflated and most players asking wages out of our structure.

Dave Jones told the Cardiff Post:

‘If I’ve got to go further afield, I will.’

‘We tried to get Andy Carroll, but he went to Preston. Everyone thinks we’ve got this £5m from the sale of Chopra, but it’s about the wages.’

The deadline to bring players in is the 31st August and we hope to have a new striker signed before that date.
