Cardiff City centre-back Darren Purse has spoken out over the leaking of goals which has hindered Cardiff’s progress this season.

Speaking on his icons.com homepage, Purse said:

‘There is a bit of pressure to keep clean sheets at home and we have been working very hard in training to get that right. I’m sure the supporters will start to see it bear fruit for us soon.’

‘Teams come here and shut up shop. If they get the first goal, that is it, there are ten men behind th ball.’

Cardiff have struggled to create clear cut chances, especially at home, despite enjoying plenty of possession and playing reasonably well.

As a unit, the team are beginning to gel and the goals are coming more freely. At the back, there are problems but recent injuries to Purse, Loovens and McNaughton have all now cleared and all three are back in contention.
