Cardiff City travel to Norwich City to face Peter Grant’s injury-hit Canaries.

Norwich City captain Jason Shackell misses the game after colliding with a team-mate and damaging his ankle, veteran Dion Dublin is expected to deputise in defense. Ian Murray was withdrawn with an illness, and could be replaced by the experienced Adam Drury – who is returning from a groin strain.

In attack, Grant also has problems. David Strihavka is ruled out by illness, Huckerby has just returned to training after missing the entire pre-season and has just 120 minutes of Carling Cup action behind him while Jamie Cureton has been struggling with a dead leg, although is expected to be fit.

Cardiff City’s experienced strike duo of Robbie Fowler and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could both play a part after completing the midweek Carling Cup tie. JFH left the ground with a sore foot, while care will be taken not to over-exert Fowler’s troublesome groin but both are in the matchday squad.

Darren Purse misses out with a knee injury, leaving us short of defensive cover in the centre. McNaughton is the 4th choice centre-half but he is out for another few weeks meaning Darcy Blake as the only option at the back.

The game comes too soon for Riccy Scimeca, the experienced midfielder is recovered from a groin strain but short of match fitness.
