It’s being reported today that Cardiff have accepted a £2million offer for striker Joe Mason from Bournemouth.

The Mirror report that the club have accepted the offer and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy for the player to depart as he doesn’t see him as being in his plans this season, so talks between the player and Bournemouth will take place at some point today over personal terms.

Apparently Bournemouth are prepared to pay the fee up front, and obviously for OGS recouping some funds will help him balance his own budget some what which may well aide further business this month in terms of incoming signings.

Mason hasn’t long returned from a loan spell with Bolton and the paper also says that John Brayford is considering a move to Bournemouth as well, but they don’t offer any further details on what his move may potentially be.

Mason has been with us since the summer of 2011 after joining for a reported £250,000. He has since made 43 starts for Cardiff in all competitions, with a further 34 appearances from the bench. In that time he has scored 18 times.

In his loan spell with Bolton he has made eight appearances, and scored once.
