Jones To Complain By Letter

Cardiff manager Dave Jones feels so strongly about the actions of referee Andy Woolmer that he has decided to write to the FA in an attempt to stop the official taking charge of anymore Bluebirds games.

Woolmer was the man in charge of Cardiff’s 3-3 draw with Luton Town on Tuesday, the match ended controversially with a stonewall penalty not being given which could have handed Bluebirds the full three points.

At the end of the game Jones had to be restrained when he obviously wanted to have a quiet word in the referee’s ear-hole.

‘You know he had a decision to make and he didn’t make it, and he’ll have many, many more to make if he stays refereeing and I just think that we shouldn’t have him again because he can’t make those decisions,’ said Jones.

‘So why should I have a referee that can’t make big decisions on the night? I will send a letter to the FA requesting that we don’t have him again.’

‘I don’t know if that will work but as I said the other evening that for me to lose my temper with an official is very rare and I think when everybody looks at it, between the pair of them (the referee and his assistant) they must have been the only two in the whole stadium that did not think it was a penalty.

‘Everybody make mistakes, the players made mistakes on the night and everything else but I don’t think that was a mistake.

‘He can’t say he didn’t see it…. because if he thinks that in his judgement and the linesman’s judgement that it wasn’t a penalty then they shouldn’t be in the game. That was a clear-cut no-nonsense, full stop penalty and you cannot miss things at any level never mind this level.’
