Cardiff City striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was one of the only people excited when The Bluebirds drew Middlesbrough in the FA Cup quarter final. For Bluebirds fans they look certain to be big underdogs but without the glamour of a match against the big four. ‘Boro wil see the tie as a good chancce to progress but they have already struggled against one Championship club and are by no means through.

For Hasselbaink however, the fixture means an emotional return to Riverside where he impressed and scored some truly memorable goals. JFH was a huge player for Boro and really spurred them on to some excellent results, scoring some memorable goals in the process.

However, Hasselbaink admits he is fully intent on dumping his former club out of the cup and insists Cardiff travel in good spirits. He told the Western Mail:

“Scoring would be great, but winning would be better. At the very least we aim to bring them back to Ninian Park.”

“You always have to go in confident mood, if you don`t think you have a chance it is better to stay away. It is not going to be easy because they have really good players.”

“But you never know, on the day it can be anybody`s game and in the FA Cup you never know.”

Hasselbaink remains a popular figure amongst Middlesbrough fans. He scored a great goal in the last round and was instrumental in seeing off Wolves. Another Hasselbaink goal would be great and Cardiff do have serious ambitions. With Chelsea the only ‘big four’ club left in the cometition – who knows what could happen…..
