Good Enough For You Mr Chopra ?!?

Cardiff City are in the highest of spirits after an unbeaten start to the season and expectations rising through the roof after the loan captures of Jason Koumas and Craig Bellamy adding to the already talented squad at Dave Jones` disposal. Those two have Premiership experience and quality, and with fellow new recruits Seyi Olofinjana, Danny Drinkwater, Tom Heaton, Lee Naylor and Martin John added to the ranks, we look to have a squad capable of a genuine promotion push.

It`s unbelievable given the reality that a short time ago, we were on the verge of administration with unpaid bills, player departures and all manner of off-field problems causing serious concern for the future of CCFC.

It was almost exactly one month ago today, that the Bluebirds were rocked by a strong outburst from star striker Michael Chopra, disenchanted with the lack of ambition and transfer activity we had shown. Chopra`s blast included a blatant quit threat and made his intentions and feelings pretty clear!

It appears that our Malaysian backers, and Dave Jones were just biding their time and any thoughts that we would miss out on our top targets seems unfounded since captures of Bellamy and Koumas in particular would have seemed ludicrous and overly-ambitious. Seyi Olofinjana has also made a significant impact, and offers the physicality we have lacking in midfield for some time. Following the payment of debts, withdrawal of the winding-up petition and subsequent lifting of the transfer embargo, the changes are evident and we are 100% indebted to the likes of Steve Borley, Gethin Jenkins and particularly Dato Chan Tien Ghee and Vinent Tan who have all contributed massively to the staggering progress we have made in the past month.

At the time of his comments, Michael Chopra was the undoubted jewel in our crown, and whilst he remains a proven goalscorer and integral member of the team, there must now be a question over how many games he will start and whether he fits into Dave Jones` preferred formation given that he, Bothroyd, Bellamy, Burke, Whittingham, Koumas (and McCormack) are now competing for the 4 forward roles on Jones` teamsheet.

Good enough progress for you Chops?!?
