Leicester City are the next visitors to Ninian Park on Saturday and the Foxes have today strengthened their midfield options with the loan acquisition of Irish midfielder Lee Hendrie from Sheffield United.

Hendrie is well known to Cardiff City after a recent touchline argument with manager Dave Jones following the sending off of Stephen McPhail when Hendrie was with Stoke City. McPhail’s arm brushed Hendrie although the Irishman’s reaction was extremely exaggerated.

Hendrie is a talented player and adds versatility, experience and quality to midfield. He will surely go straight into the Foxes’ squad to face us on Saturday. Manager Ian Holloway said of the former Aston Villa man:

“Lee has a quality that Leicester City want in their ranks. He is a player that can unlock a door for us. He will help the team.”

“In my eyes he can play wide left, centre midfield and wide right. I am really looking forward to working with him.”

Hendrie is Holloway’s 8th signing as the Foxes look to pull clear of the relegation zone.
