Former Cardiff City loan striker Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Johnson is currently trying to find a Championship side to end his Fulham exile and start afresh in British football.

Eddie arrived on loan at Cardiff City as a multi-million pound Premiership frontman and a USA International. After a simply dreadful start, he did manage to improve and put in a few meaningful contributions – however, the fans took to him as an unlikely cult hero. His first goal on European soil surely drew the biggest cheer of the season at Ninian Park.

Eddie’s agent has made contact with Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock about a potential move to Selhurst Park. Warnock is said to be ‘considering’ his options. Some Cardiff City fans would welcome Johnson back with open arms, but he remains a horrendously expensive mistake in the eyes of many.

If he does end up an ‘Eagle’, he can expect a warm reception next season in he continues his meteoric improvement as a Crystal Palace player
