Cardiff City are finalising a deal to bring Anthony Gerrard, cousin of Liverpool and Endland midfielder Steven Gerrard to the Bluebirds.
Gerrard is a former Everton trainee and a centre-back of a decent reputation in the lower leagues. He has been at current club Walsall for 4 years and pickwed up the player of the year award on two occasions.
Southampton saw a bid rejected for Gerrard, but the Blubeirds have agreed a deal for the 22 year old who will join fellow centre-backs Gabor Gyepes and Mark Hudson once his medical is complete.
Gerrard scored 3 goals in 44 appearances for the Saddlers last term and was highly regarded at the League One outfit
