Former Cardiff City striker Robbie Fowler will join npower league side MK Dons as a coach next year, where he will link up with Karl Robinson and former Liverpool midfielder Deitmar Hammann.

Fowler was a glamour signing for Cardiff City during the Peter Ridsdale era – and will surely go down as one of the most disappointing. Fowler arrived amid strong media interest, while fans took up the shirts etc in numbers.

Fowler made just a handful of appearances in an injury raveged season before turning his back on the club to join then Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince. Esentially, we spend a great deal of time, money and effort in a vain attempt to get the man fit, before he left anyway – a blessing in disguise if ever there was one.

Fowler went on to join Perth Glory, but has now agreed to join up with the MK Dons at the end of the Australian season – early 2011.
