Former Cardiff City defender Tony Capaldi has linked up with the team he left to join us after training this week with Plymouth Argyle.

The Northern Ireland international was largely a bit part player for the Bluebirds in the past two seasons and made just a handful of appearances covering for the likes of McNaughton and Mark Kennedy.

Pilgrims fans were somewhat unhappy with Capaldi when he left to join us, with no transfer fee involved we were able to offer higher wages – though Capaldi never became the dominant defensive or attacking threat we hoped.

Capaldi’s defining moment was probably a long throw that Barnsley failed to clear allowing Joe Ledley to hook home a volley in the FA Cup semi-final two years ago.

thank god he has left capaldi was a terrible defender he couldn’t even beat a 34 year old defender into the starting 11.
