Coventry City are the visitors to Ninian Park this weekend to face Cardiff City. Cardiff have struggled for goals recently but the Sky Blues manager Iain Dowie is mindful of the two experienced new recruits brought in by Dave Jones and Peter Ridsdale.

Dowie knows one player, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, particularly well having worked together last season at Charlton Athletic.

Dowie spoke of the immense power the former Chelsea and Leeds United striker possesses, describing JFH as ‘fantastic’ and ‘a top pro’.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, Dowie said:

‘They are tremendous signings for Cardiff and whatever happens, whether they start or not, we are going to have our hands full because if the ball drops to Robbie or Jimmy in the box they are going to score. That’s what they do.’

Hasselbaink only joined up with his new tream-mates on Monday, but after scoring two impressive goals in a midweek friendly, is likely to join the matchday squad and could well feature in the match.
