Cardiff City manager Dave Jones begn his managerial career back in 1995 when he managed Stockport County taking over from Danny Bergara. The Liverpudlian gained automatic promotion 2 years later to the then equivalent of the Champiobnship before leaving to take over at Southampton.

Now Stockport County have launched a brave campaign to buy their Edgeley Park ground back from a previosu chairman, after the club was sold to the Supporters but not the stadium which is shared with the Sale Sharks.

Although Cardiff City have had mare acrimonious relationships with past Chairman, Sam Hammam and Rick Wright string immediately to mind but nevertheless it seems a cause worth supporting.

With so much of football revolving around money, foreign investors and the alienation of the fans – Stockport County’s bid is a brave and welcome one. The plan is to sell pixel space on their website for £1 each, for which the advertisement, as well as a chance to win a season ticket AND name a stand is the prize.

Cheers for this. You actually win a ticket for life at Stockport County and you get to name a stand if you get drawn out. It’s a great prize for a pound. Aswell as that you get to advertise or whatever for free. It’s just a pound. Come on guys 🙂 Good luck today.
